Some timetable help for First-Years

Dear First-Years,

Since many of you will have some questions concerning their timetables, we want to offer some help.

First of all, you should know which courses you ought to take. In the first semester, these are the same for both B.A.s and teacher trainees, namely:

1. Grundkurs A
   
2. Introductory Course Lecture (ICL)
   
3. Introductory Course Tutorial (ICT)
4. Written English I
5. optional: Begleitkurs zu Grundkurs A

Every first year student has to take courses 1 to 4, while n° 5 is optional. Alternatively, you may take Begleitkurs zu Grundkurs B next semester. You may choose between the two, but you have to take at least one of them!

While there are fixed dates for the lectures, you may choose between different groups with regard to the tutorials (ICT, Written English I and Begleitkurs A). There are 5 ICT groups, 5 groups Begleitkurs A and 2 groups each for Written English I (B.A.) and Written English I (teacher trainees).
Thus, you have several options to arrange your timetable and should always choose the groups that fit in best with the rest of your courses.
